Hi. i want to know if my RSS from the Main Anandtech site is working correctly.
I can view the article briefs, but i cannot see the whole article or page by page.
Is this just how the RSS works? I have to go to the actual site if i want to read the whole article?
This description of RST from Intel's website says that RST provides the benefit of NCQ "...through AHCI."
Why would intel bother releasing a special chipset driver to enable the benefit of AHCI if it wasn't necessary?
Maybe I'm totally wrong here, but if you (anybody who reads this) think...
cool. thanks phynaz.
however, recently, i noticed that it is no longer on by default when i turn my PC on, is this weird?
the icon still shows up in the system tray, but it says "not running" when i hover my cursor over the icon until i run it and then it turns green and starts running in the...
Well, from what I've been able to surmise from other folks on other forums (nothing official) it looks like you have to keep this software on in the background for it to do what it says it does. (ie controlling raid and native command queuing)
Please, if anyone has their own info on this, let...
Is it required or desirable to have this running in the background all the time, or it the kind of thing you can just configure once and then disable it until you need to change something?
up to 70c-75c under full load for an extended period of time with the stock cooler, and everything in bios set to auto seems to be par for the course with the 920.
these higher temps are usually hit when your cpu goes into turbo and the auto vcore goes up to probably 1.25 or higher and then...
@betasub sorry, not so clear about the question... i use video encoding and audio encoding software for several days straight once a month, but that's the most i ever stress my sytem.
@axon thanks for the info, and your opinion. that was the sort of answer i was looking for.
@everybody...
hi,
i have 2 really basic questions that i am not sure about. please help if you can.
1. i want to know how long my cpu may last if i overclock.
i have a i7 920, and i overclocked it to about 3.3 GHz after turbo.
is this enough to have a meaningful impact on the life of the cpu?
how long...
i agree with those folks who are saying that it is in google's best interest to not tell anyone how they found out.
it's not just for security, but it gives those parties responsible time to concoct a cover-up, or to prove why google's tracking methodology is flawed.
if google needs to prove...
look at the warning here on the intel chipset support pages.
be careful switching around the ahci/raid settings, and make sure it's not going to cause a problem.

I am looking at the X58A-UD3 and UD5, which go for about $245 and $330 respectively, here in japan.
From what I understand, the difference is that the X58A-UD5 has better voltage regulators, a clear cmos button and an on/off button.
Does anyone have an opinion about the usefulness or...
hi.
regardless of your specific system needs, it is good to know that you should not use an underpowered psu.
basically, if you put too great a draw on a psu, it will heat up the connections and melt or burn stuff.
sometimes, they melt and burn the parts that are drawing the power (mobo, gpu)...
i don't really buy that whole "low brow art" thing.
that's so pre- "the work of art in the age of mechanical reproduction."
but i don't see how race enters into it?
art is art, and people trying to tell you that their art is high-brow are doing so because they want to preserve the old, elitist...
"I hate self-righteous people"
does that include bono?
This woman is obviously suffering from some kind of neurosis. It probably has nothing to do with helping Haitians, and you definitely don't want to know what the real problem is.
Sounds like more trouble than it's worth.
If you do...
