reading 500 mb pdf on ipad 1 or 2

Btw, you might consider opening a huge PDF and saving it into individual chapters. This could allow for many smaller PDFs that the iPad could easily handle...

reading 500 mb pdf on ipad 1 or 2

I was unable to open a 480 MB PDF on my iPad 1. I doubt you would be able to open a 500 MB pdf. Keep in mind that the iPad 1 only has 256 MB of memory and the iPad 2 only has 512. I would suggest someone else that owns an iPad 2 chiming in with their experiences, though...

    Parallel Programming Course Project

This is for an undergraduate level course. We will not be reading any scholarly papers in the course. Concurrent programming does fall within the courses definition as the syllabus says it covers "programming techniques applicable to concurrent, parallel and distributed programs." I have more...

    Parallel Programming Course Project

I am currently enrolled in a course for parallel programming that involves a group project. We are free to choose are own team members and what we want to do for the project. I've teamed up with two good friends and we are trying to brainstorm ideas for fun and interesting projects. I am...

Thoughts on the Crucial C300 SSD? Anyone using them?

I have yet to own any SSDs, but from what I've read on forum posts here, people seem to say that its hard to notice the difference in speed between Indilinx SSDs to Intel SSDs (let alone the newer C300 and SandForce drives). They point out that the difference in random writes is quite dramatic...

SSD partition on 2008 hosted on ESX4.0

I'll soon be building a similar server using 2 100 GB SandForce SSDs (with ESXi as hypervisor). I posted about this here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2060516 I plan on doing tests using VMFS, both with the drives full and not full, in order to get an idea of the used...

    SSDs and Virtualization

"The more spare-area we ship with, the longer our performance will remain at its peak level. But again, you have to pay the piper at some point. Intel ships its X25-M with 7.5 - 8% more area than is actually reported to the OS. The more expensive enterprise version ships with the same amount...

    SSDs and Virtualization

OWC got back to me and told me that their drives are perfect for my intended use, so I ordered 2 of their 100 GB SandForce SF-1500 SSDs. Does anybody have any idea how I can try to put the drives in a used state when running ESXi on them with some virtual machines? I'd like to do some basic...

    SSDs and Virtualization

I've sent a similar question to OWC's pre-sale customer support department and I'll post here what they say. Additionally, I've found a forum post where somebody called SandForce and asked about TRIM and said: "Just got off the phone with a 'Consumer Sandforce Rep' ... seems like the TRIM...

    SSDs and Virtualization

I read somewhere a while ago that one of the reasons the Intel X-25E was such a great drive was that it had a large amount of reserved space (I am trying to find this source again but have as yet been unable to find out exactly how much space is reserved in the X-25E 32GB). I know that the OWC...
