I had a netgear fa310tx card in a soyo+iv BX motherboard sharing IRQ's with other devices and had trouble getting this card to work. The automatic detection setting always gives me a 0.0.0.0 ip. It won't obtain an ip from my dhcp router. I took out the netgear and put in a 3com card it worked...
