I hav had this happen to me with a couple of older maxtor HDs. I neevr could figure the probelm out...but i believe it's a drive going bad. I had to replace those drives shortly after i was gettign those errors. Happened with NTFS partions though. Anyone elase care to help?

Yes, I am installing XP Tablet Edition. Still no luck.

Yes, i tried those. Unfortunatly, they didnt work. I think they're some special driver, because I've been working at this thing for a week and a half, and still cant figure it out.
