Well i was searching other sites for the ram I have in my machine and have been seeing them for under $100 so I am thinking that the $277 is inflated for some reason.
So I will go with the PC2-5300. There is no problems mixing the two speeds in my machine is there?

I tried resetting the router with no luck.
Took a step backwards now as I cannot connect to the cable modem anymore. Get the same problem. Updated the bios drivers and tried different cables all with no luck. I'm starting to think the lan adapter on the motherboard is faulty.

The tcp/ip properties were all set properly. Not sure about the winsock items but I did run the check and it said it was ok. I should have mentioned, if I bypass the router and go directly to the cable modem I get an ip just fine. But I need to go through the router so both pc's are...
Just built my new system using a P5B-E motherboard which has the Attansic Gigabyte Lan.
My old computer has no problems connecting to the Linksys BEFSR41b router and obtaining an IP from it.
However the new pc's connection 'flickers' on and off every second.
