My PC is not near the bedroom door. What I usually do is turn the AC a notch down. I still think making a hole in the wall seems like a good idea... But wanted to check if anyone has thought or done this...
OK, So my PC is like a mini radiator. Although summer is basically over... I'm still curious if anyone does anything special to get the heat out that is generated by a desktop PC.
Sometimes I wonder if should drill a hole in the wall and possibly vent the heat from the desktop PC with some...
FYI,
I have a 160GB G2 and you don't need AHCI to be enabled. I compared my results against someone who has AHCI enabled and I can tell you that there isn't much difference.
Below is my results - AHCI not enabled.

CrystalDiskMark 2.2...
I don't know why so many ppl are complaining about newegg... If you are not happy with newegg prices... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I did.. and got my 160GB G2 :)
OK,
So I updated NVIDIA NFORCE driver and this is the results:

Yes... a bit slower..
Looks like my drive is slower than yours... I wonder why ? Did you set AHCI in your BIOS setting ?
My drive is significantly slower vs new compared with yours. Yours is slower but not by much... Maybe when Win 7 is out and TRIM is supported it will restore itself ...
I got similar numbers when I first installed OS... But after installing everything else I now have 50GB free in my 160GB and my results are as follows.

Makes sense... Maybe I should disconnect RAPTOR until I need to do a backup... The only problem with that is that I would have to open my case and it can be a pain if I backup routinely...
Well, I put my external hard drive to rest... I'll be using my Raptor as a backup...
In my old Raptor 150GB I was able to fit everything and I still had 26 GB of free space.
I have mainly installed all applications on my SSD and have 90GB of free space but I have not moved my music and...
OK,
So I finally got my Intel SSD 160gb and I'm currently installing OS. I'm wondering what to do with my old hard drive (150GB Western Digital 10K RPM).
I currently use a Maxtor external hard drive to back up all my data just in case something goes wrong...
I'm thinking maybe I should...
LOL, Well the purpose of benching it is as follows:
1. Know that is working as expected.
2. Over time, I'd like to re-bench it to check before and after and ensure it's working as expected.
