I'm looking to build a new system and these are the components I am considering using:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
ASUS A8N-E Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX Mobo
CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB DDR 400 (PC 3200)
BFG Tech BFGR78256GTOC Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express

I'm building a new PC for a friend, and while most of the hardware is new, he wanted me to just use the exisiting hard drive, DVD drive, and CD burner. I setup everything and now the computer won't boot into windows.

I know this might seem kind of obvious, but check again and make sure you have DSL filters on all of your phones in the house. Also, it may be the quality of the line in your house. I know I had a problem with my DSL service a while ago similar to yours--turned out to be the old lines I had in...
I just reformatted and reinstalled windows...that's when I've been getting the issues. I haven't checked the drivers yet, so I'll give that a shot. Thanks!!!
Every once in a while, when I restart one of my old computers (a Dell Precision 220), sometimes it fails to detect my two optical drives on the secondary IDE channel. Does anyone know a possible cause and solution for this problem?
Also, This computer is a Dell Precision 220. I'm pretty sure it uses the Phoenix BIOS because you use F2 to enter it during POST.
I do get a beep sequence...it goes 5 beeps--pause--2 beeps--pause--2 beeps--pause--3 beeps
While doing a system restore on another PC, I lost power. Now, when I try to start it up again, I just get a series of beeps, and that is it. The monitor will not turn on, so I can't get into the BIOS or anything like that.
What can I do now?
