Had a thought. I'm running Firefox as my browser and thought I'd see what the PM box looked like in IE6. And guess what - there's the "send private message" button as good as gold. Should I report this problem - and if so who to? John

This is the first BIOS since 1002 that has detected my 2 Maxtor 10 HDDs without "losing" them on a cold boot. A pleasant surprise! John

MaDMaRTiGaN - interesting. The lock-ups I get are almost always when I try to access a CD in my Plextor 116. Your experience without connecting the drive confirm my feelings. Plextor has caused trouble with this board with their 716 DVD writer which have just been fixed by a firmware update...

Yes I've tried 1004-01 and it found my Maxtor HDD on SATA 1 but not the other Maxtor on SATA 2 - very strange. I'm sticking with 1002 which finds them both. John.

1004.01 found my Maxtor 10 on SATA 1 but not my Maxtor on SATA 2 - vey strange! They're not in a RAID config while this instability continues. So a little bit better but still some way to go. Back to 1002 for me...
