I would be really surprised if you could change out the PSU even if you wanted to. The Dells a notoriously hard to upgrade, I would probably go with the 8500 because dont the 86's need a 400w PSU to run? I would definitely check first,
I think it will be a sad day for all of us if this were to really happen. I know I will be crossing my fingers and toes that there will be PC games out there that will be good enough for them to keep making cards epople will need. Maybe this will now be a 3 horse race once Intel enters in.
I would say just need to get a SATA HDD and you would be all set. I am leary of PSU's that come with cases if I don't recognize the brand, but that would be my only points of concern. Nice build though,
Did you try reinstalling the video drivers as well? Also check the settings of the monitor to see if you need to readjust the width it is displaying to get everything back on the sreen. Hope this helps,
I was thinking about an 8600gt/gts, I am coming from a 7800gt and figure now is good time to upgrade. Worth it going from the 78 to the 86 or should I wait a little longer and get an 8800. I guess if I do save it might be in time for some of the newer cards to come out but thought I would see...
Depending on how long you want to wait, I keep reading that the next gen DX10 is supposed to be a bit better, so waiting might be prudent if you can wait. If not then yeah I would probably just get the 640mb GTS, unless you can afford an Ultra which is so close to a GTX in price its actually...
I have found that using a babywipe (if you have kids) is the best. I thoroughly rinse it of the solution they have them in and ring as much of the water as I can and then just wipe down and dry with a dish cloth. The wipes are lint free so it gets the job done.
Was wondering which way to go between the C2Q6600 after the price drop or save up a little more for the 8800 640mb. I'm leaning VC but it would be really cool to have a quad core. It would be replacing my C2D 6700 that I am using now,
What kind of budget are you on and what parts do you need to pick up? I would say that even though intel is better if you are getting the budget cpu's ( 4XXX series) then I would go AMD since you can get a better $100 to $120 CPU from them then the intels, and usually the MB's are cheaper.
