Of course I restarted it on that laptop, so next year I should have another 100+Mb result file.. :)
I have a 24x7 Core2 duo running at 2.7Ghz (might go quad at some point too) that doesn't have a project, so I'll probably get that one going. Might startup my work laptop too, but that one...
Hey,
I haven't done all too much over the past year or so, but came across a PC that had been running dpad for over a year with no internet connection. Couldn't let a 113MB results.txt go to waste, so I had to turn it in. :)
The bad news is that it was a one time upload... :(
Maybe I'll...
Hi everyone!
I'm looking for another project with the end of Seti1 coming near, and so far it looks like F@H is it. I played a bit with DPAD, but they don't have Linux clients available. Does anyone here have any experience on the Linux/Unix client for F@H? Good/bad (is it a Win32 executable...
I have an off-the wall one for you...
Ever hear of a fuel-oil tank? Before natural gas lines were run to homes, houses were widely heated by fuel-oil (a kerosene-diesel type fuel). Some houses built prior to natural gas still have these tanks buried in their property, and they can even still...
Keep in mind though that Seti was never written to take advantage of the 64-bit extensions on AMDs CPU. Once they start writing versions that support the extensions (it's only a matter of time), it's entirely possible that AMD64 chips will run around the speed of P4 HT CPUs...
Basically, HT...
4.41f is solid over here. I run it on a variety of machines, including a P4 1.5Ghz laptop, 2.8Ghz HT P4 and a 1.4Ghz AMD (underclocked to 1.1Ghz, don't ask.. )
My guesses would be..
1) Heat related? Perhaps it's coincidence that it started around the 4.41f upgrade.
2) Maybe it...
I'm not familiar with Lifemapper, but as long as all the machines are configured into a domain (or Active Directory), and you had admin access to the domain you can start and stop services on remote client machines (I'm assuming Lifemapper is running as a service).
You can take this a step...
Congrats! It's funny you should mention that.. My wedding was last October, and we went on a Caribbean cruise as well. Of course my laptop stayed running in our cabin crunching seti (although I was also using it to save digital pictures, so it had a dual-purpose)... :)
