    Correct. Or you could just get plain SATA cables without the WD SecureConnect thing if you want, but the WD thing is nice.

    The email I got said they last for about 100 hours of on-time, apparently you can turn them off when you're not using them. They come with a set of spare batteries and you can get more at radio shack. They're just standard 3v lithium coin batteries, like a watch battery but a little bigger.
