Thanks a lot for the replies! :)
I will need to DVI outputs...
Out of curiosity, how do these boards compare to my old one? Amazing how quickly technology changes and gets better...it's why I try to wait so long before building a new system...
Hi Everyone,
I built my current desktop at the beginning of '08 and would now like to replace my vid card. I am having a problem watching video on the computer; it will often freeze during playback. All of the drivers are up to date and my research has shown that this card does have issues...
I got one at Woodland Hills Fry's today after work. They had a few. $149.99 with a $30 instant rebate and a $60 MIR.
I'm happy with it. I'm running my 22.1" and 20.1" widescreen monitors at 1680X1050 and it runs well. Before I could only run it to 1280X960...
I am also able to get very...
Thanks for all the advice!!
This was a brick and mortar Fry's ad so if they don't have it in stock, they'll give me a raincheck. Hopefully they'll have it in stock!
I figure for $59 I can't go wrong. When I crash my real radio control heli it can cost me hundreds of dollars so I guess...
I started a thread on this card in the vid card forum after I saw the Fry's ad this afternoon...
I was looking at upgrading a 8600GT system, Q6600, 4gb ram and dual monitors (22.1" and 20.1").

Hello Everyone,
I'd really appreciate your advice on this matter as I did some research, but I'm still a bit confused. I'm running an XFX 8600GT card on my Q6600 with 4gb of memory. I'm running dual displays, a 22.1" and a 20.1".
I use this desktop mainly for school and browsing...
I'm having the same problem running Windows Ultimate on a quad core Intel w/ 4gb of ram. I have AGV installed and an Nvidia card.
Should I uninstall the nvidia control panel?
Sucks having a new desktop that seems slow when it shouldn't be! :(
It's an Acomdata USB 3.5" drive. Fortunately, since I'll be able to keep my old drive w/out re-using it until I'm 100% sure that the photos are copied correctly.
Did you use Explorer to do your copying?
Hello Everyone,
I'm in the final stages of finalizing my new desktop. My old computer has 35gb of precious pictures, mostly of my daughter the past 3 1/2 years. What is the best way to copy these to my external hard drive and then transfer them to my new desktop?
I should mention that...
So how would this monitor compare to an older Dell 20" widescreen (2005fpw)? I just built a new desktop with Vista Ultimate and I've always wanted a dual monitor setup. As the Acer would be my primary monitor because it's bigger, I wouldn't want the quality to be noticeable lower.
Thanks!
Pete
