Hey man, I feel your pain. I went through 3 of these boards before I gave up. I'm waiting for an nforce4 ultra board myself (I don't have 2 video cards, I just liked the idea of the upgrade path).
Personally I think the chipset is very immature. Maybe the motherboards are defective...We're...
I had all these same problems...went through 3 motherboards. I have a Silenx 450watt PSU...and apparently it isn't enough? Which seems insane to me. Anyway, I only have 1 6600GT , so I'm going to wait for some of the nforce4 ultra boards instead.
Still, this sucks.
Ok try going to the control panel, administrative tools, Computer management, and then Disk Administrator. Should be able to do what you need from there. (create and format a partition on the new drive).
I can tell you that you need to patch splinter cell up to version 1.31 or so and it works much better. I've got the leadtek 6600GT pci express which also came with Splinter Cell.
I assume you've got all the latest drivers loaded...? Not sure what else to suggest.
Course, it would help if I was paying attention. I've got a Nforce4 motherboard and so of course I'm using the PCI Express 6600GT. Wonder if there's a difference between the AGP and PCI Express cards?
I just switched from an ATI 9800 to an Nvidia 6600GT and haven't experienced any 2D speed issues. Scrolling through forums works just great. I wonder if something isn't going wrong with your setup?
Can't really comment on the quality. The new card looks good enough for me and I also run...
