I have 2 XP Pro SP2 computers networked. Both link to a DSL modem via a Zonet broadband router/print server. This arrangement has worked fine for several years. My wife wanted to connect her laptop to the internet with a port in the den. So I put in a Trendnet switch in the basement by cutting...
Thanks for the suggestions. I downloaded Meedio and it looks nice on this PC is use for working at home etc. I've heard about some others I'm going to take for a test drive as well. I was also thinking of using a Linux OS. I'm looking at Dynebolic and Ubuntu for example. This would free up...
I am seriously considering building an Audio Media Server not a HTPC. I got my wife a Tivo a few years ago and she loves it and it works just fine. What I want is to make a server so I can copy all my CD's and maybe stream some audio and/or download.
As work we just upgraded a bunch of...
I have a homebuilt PC with a Aopen MOBO, 3gig Intel, XP Pro Sp2 that I biuld about 2 years ago. I have been using Adobe Premiere Element 1.0 sometimes on this computer but I hadn't edited or downloaded and video to it for about 6 months or used the firewire for anything else for that matter. A...
I've been looking at several different fractal programs. All are freeware or shareware. I would like to find something or some way to input audio signals to change the pattern. Thet is have the artwork "dance" to the music. I think I've seen this done before but I have no idea what I'm to call...

Yes the grinder does have a more complicated switch. I could be a torgue switch, You set the number of "cups" and it grinds different amounts but isnt all that accurate or consistent. The voltage surge from a ballast makes sense but doesn't explain the few times it went off without turning on...
I've had some very strange things happening in my house. We have a coffee grinder in our kitchen. Lately, whenever anyone goes down into the basement where the pantry is, directly under the place where the coffee grinder is and turns on the overhead light, the grinder comes on. Its happened...
2 years ago we got a D-Link DL514 router (802.11 B) and the DWL reciever is in my wifes computer down stairs. We get very slow and poor reception at times. We've played with the location and antenna angle etc. and it still isn't all that fast and closes down too often. The equiment seams to be...
