So are you successfully retrieving some data? Seems that app can actually get past some initial errors that the HD gives but can get to the data, so perhaps there is a chance you can get some of it back.

Having read through your problem, without trying more stuff Id lean more towards the mobo idea. Power is being supplied since the fans spin, and the fact that there are no beeps at all is usually quite a good indication that the mobo is gone. No beeps and fans spinning is exactly what one gets...
