This sounds like RAM to me. I had almost identical issues with my e6400 plus corsair ram and asus p5w. Try doing memtest from a cd, or if thats not possible, take out one of the sticks of RAM and try installing windows. Whichever is the faulty one will fall over, the other one will let you...
