Why is no one addressing my questions? Yes, despite your snarky blowoff, it does need to be a PC. The details are unimportant to the progression of this thread, and if you want to start a thread about why a PC would be better for a car audio RTA tool than a Mac, by all means, start your own...
FWIW, you could check my thread! :) I definitely follow the SBYP rule, and I definitely didn't find anything even close to this.

You are correct, that's not what I want to hear, because that solution is not a good one for what I need. I don't want a transient laptop in the passenger seat, I want a computer integrated into my car. :)
As far as head units with line-ins, etc... I'm more than familiar with them, and not...
Hi everyone.
Just FYI I have done a search on the forums and have found literally no information about a similar project, so hopefully I get some good feedback here.
Many people have integrated a PS2 or XBOX into their car audio system, it's relatively common in the world of car audio...
So the Samsungs seem to be the LCDs at this point, eh? Someone at anandtech also mentioned the Dell 24" widescreen, said that Samsung actually produces the LCD. I don't think I would mind a widescreen if it were that size. You could even use normal 4:3 aspect ratio with black bars on the side...
A quick question. I think I am finally tired of my 21" Sony Trinitron CRT, if for no other reason than the weight is breaking my desk. :) I love the performance, I keep everything at 1600x1200 resolution (4:3 aspect ratio) @ ~80hz refresh.
I have two pc's. One I use for...
The wireless router is receiving RF interference. Go to dslreports.com and do a speed test (under tools section), do a speed test and move your router to numerous places as far as you can stretch the power cord, etc. If my theory is right you'll see varying speeds getting faster as you move...
I'm assuming you have dsl which is capped at 768k then? Just wondering, because your numbers at this point don't really show me anything, other than your speeds didn't change regardless of the wireless mode. Unfortunately your top speeds match my "throttled" speed when I enable wireless mode.
Correct. I have a wireless NIC, but I'm just not adding that into the equation at the moment. If I'm in "mixed" mode my download bandwidth is horrible. If I disable wireless mode altogether, everything works fine.
I'm going to do a hard reset of the router tonight. If that fixes it I'll...
What you are suggesting is that this router needed a hard reset from the moment it came out of the wrapper. I don't buy it (yet), but I will certainly give it a try. I'm open to anything at this point!
