It is. I ended up just using the old drive in it because I coudlnt get any newer drive to work. I had tried CS/maser/slave jumper settings and it detected it fine each time but once you restart it, it doesnt work. And sometimes even after turning it off and turning it back on still didnt fix...

To update, I went and returned the drive and got a 160gb western digital. Same problem. When it boots, sometimes it sees it and sometimes it doesnt. When it tries to boot from it, it gives an error. Also when it doesnt see it, during post, it says "Primary master drive fails"

I store all of my stuff on an old PC in my closet that has 3 hard drives in it. I run all my MP3s over my network too. Doesnt really slow it down at all ever, even when I burn stuff. Never heard of drobo before, always looking for new toys :)

The problem you are having is normal for the XFX 7800GT. It seems like a lot of people are having that problem. http://www.xfxforce.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=1677&start=0&tstart=0 is a great place to find out all the info you need on this problem. Guess it is just luck of the draw with these.

Well I have the S939. Anyways, I have tryed playing the .mov files from apples's site. As far as codecs go, I am using quicktime alternative on both computers playing them in MPC.

What I do is install the software for capturing and then I use VLC. Then I open it up and go to file >> open capture device, select my card and it displays.

I just looked up the decoding acceleration on the 7800GT... as of 5.13 drivers the card supports it. Anyways, when I watch a certian video, not sure if its H.264 but its 720p, I run at around 90%-100% CPU usage and its very choppy on my comp. On my parents comp it runs smooth with 8-15% CPU...
