For anyone interested, changed the memory banks over and after 50 passes didnt get any errors. Looks like the memory just had seating issues. Will run memtest and prime again to make sure in the next few days.

I ended up flashing an MSI bios in as was posted in that link above. It worked but I still think having to flash other companies bios's is dodgy. Would be nice if HP had a bit better support. Meh it works now.

Hmm well if the memory is the same speed then I would consider getting the 256MB version. It is available to me and more memory cant do any harm. Do you have a link to the info about the 256 card mem speed?
