    Yeah, was my rationale. Sadly I may just go with the x2 3800+ because the Opterons may be out of stock for quite awhile - was going to just pick one up from Monarch since I live near them but they're now listing it as out of stock until the 20th.

    Looking at an Opteron 165 or an x2 3800+ for xmas. 165 seems the clear choice at about $30 more retail than the x2 3800+ with double the cache. From what I've researched it's the clear choice but I thought i'd at least ask generally if there's anything bad about the Opteron 165 - are there bad...
