    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

Thank you everybody that advised and helped and I'm happy with the result. Stable, cool, and perform way better than my old rig, P4 2.66ghz @ 3.40ghz OCed. 1.86ghz > 3.40ghz ;)

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

Current: 266 x 6 = 1596 EDIT: If I raise the FSB (from 266 to 310) and lower the multiplier (from 7x to 6x) to maintain the same speed, will I still lose a little performance overall and the temperature will go back to in the 40Cs? Original: 266 x 7 = 1862 New: 310 x 6 = 1860

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

I live in TX , if it really matters, and the room temperature is always in the 70s. But anyhow, my e6300's temperature is now about around in the mid 30Cs after I enabled the Speedstep option in the BIOS to achieve the lower temperature.:) picture TAT: Idle: 35C Load: 42C

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

Well, I have three Yate Loons 120mm fans (very silent and low airflow) attached to my PC case, one for intake, one on the Ninja, and one for exhaust. Since those Yate Loons have little airflow, is that the reason why my e6300's temperature is out of the norm compared to others? Currently...

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

After I disabled the Speed Fan Control from the BIOS screen, the CPU's temperature readings still stays at around 45C but however on the TempCore, it decreased to 40C. picture

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

The odd thing is that on my BIOS screen, the System Hardware Monitor is still showing that my CPU's temperature is around at 46C while CoreTemp is showing at around 42C. So which readings are more accurate?

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

My E6300 had decreased around about four degrees now after I reapplied and added more of the included thermal paste on the CPU and thus my E6300's temperature is now about around 42C to 43C. picture Still not the temperature range that I was expected to have but I guess it's good enough...

    E6300 @ 46C,... is that too hot?

I have finished building my Conroe (Allendale) system a week now and from the readings from CoreTemp, it seems like my E6300 is too hot since it's show up as around 46C currently. I also checked my CPU temperature in the BIOS screen and it's also showing the CPU at around 45-46C as well...

E6300 ($183) vs E4300($163) Tough decision but shouldn't the E6300 be more stable than the E4300?
