Go with faster CPU, 4GB Ram, and a 4850. DDR2 ram is cheap and you can get a good set of 4gb for about $40 or less. For a $146.99 9800 GTX, I'd rather go for a 4850.
I have this monitor too. I personally run my on a DVI cable, as it displays images crisper and cleaner. A VGA connection just looks blurry and slightly washed out IMO.
I run with these settings:
Brightness: 40
Contrast:70
Gamma: -50
Red: 41
Green: 30
Blue: 38
Blacks are deep and...
You also might want to get an LCD with a matte panel, as glossy panels view colors brighter than they actually are. For the 200-300 range, it's hard to get a non-TN panel, so I guess TN panel is your solution.
I have the P5Q Pro for about 4 months. So far it's rock solid, no crashes, no stability issues. Games run great. But I don't overclock, so can't comment on that.
