I'm ot sure that you need to upgrade at all. I'm running HL2 at 1680x1050 on a Dell 2005FPW with an ATI 9500pro, Athlon 2400 and a gig of ddr and everything maxed and it runs flawlessly.

The distortion you see on your monitor is caused by electromagnetic field created by the speaker magnets. More power= stronger magnetic field. While using heavy guage wire is always good, the only way you will get rid of the distortion is to move the speakers further away from the monitor.

Is it possible to play UT using D3D with the S3TC textures that came on the other CD? Since I installed the Radeon 8500, I can't seem to play it in OpenGL. (Yes, I had Loki's OpenglDrv.dll and the unrealtournament.ini mod installed) I really want those compressed textures back! :(

What the heck are the REAL driver version numbers. Anand calls them 7.13.06, HotHardware has them as 7.63.01, and 3DChipset has them as 4.13.7206!!!!!!!!!! I'm very confused.

What happens if you put an Celeron 850 into a Shuttle AV18E which has a maximum 8X multiplier? Will it default to an 800 or will it not run at all? BIOS update isn't an option since the multiplier is set with jumpers. Anyone?
