ThinkPad Laptop - High pitch buzzing when not plugged in

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X61s. When I don't have the AC cord plugged in and I'm just running off of battery power, I hear this high pitch pulsating buzz (kind of like morse code). But when I have the AC cord plugged in, I don't hear the noise at all. Any idea what my problem could be? Thanks

I just assembled a new computer. I'm running Vista 64. I'm installing my OS and drivers, and everything works fine. But when I try to install (the latest) video drivers (for Vista 64), all I get is a black screen once Windows loads. I have to boot up in safe mode in order to uninstall the...

[newb] Help with ~$1000 gaming build

oh ok I'll go with the e8400 then. I just didn't want to "regret" going with the dual core if/when games started using quad cores

[newb] Help with ~$1000 gaming build

The reason why I'm considering the quad core instead of dual core is because I plan on keeping this computer for 4 years or so. If I'm planning for the long run, won't a slower quad core be a better investment than a faster dual core? As for the heatsink/fan, I figured an aftermarket would...
