    oh good, I wasn't looking forward to installing them, anyway. IME, the installers only worked correctly half the time...:-( So are there any other VIA drivers I might need, or am I all set? Thanks for the speedy replies!!!

    Maybe this is silly to ask....but does winXP still require the VIA 4in1 drivers? For some reason I'm thinking maybe it doesn't...but I can't really justify that thought...so I'm making a fool of myself and asking in a public forum. ;-) And what's the newest version these days?     *ALWAYS* clean install OSes. I'll say it again...*ALWAYS* clean install OSes. Upgrades are a joke. YOu should actually clean install your OS about every 12-14 months.....but NEVER, EVER upgrade an OS. Yuk. Blech. Avoid it like the plague.......Did I meantion you should *ALWAYS* clean...
