This PSU should work. It also depends on the specs of your computer; what processor, how many hard drives etc. Based on the 12V rail at 25A, this should work. I'm not sure of the wattage that the card takes, but you can always take the Watts and divide by 12 and this will give how many amps...
I actually have 34A on both rails combined. I'm just not sure if the card will draw from both rails simultaneously or not. Basically I don't know if they are in parallel?
My system at a glance:
C2D 6400@3.08
Thermaltake Blue Orb II
DS-3 rev. 2.0 BIOS:10
2x1Gb G-skill 6400 4-4-4-12...
I currently have an Ultra X-Finity 500 Watt PSU. From what I'ver read, the 8800 GTS requires 24A on the 12V rail. My power supply has two 12V rails. One is 16A and the other is 18A for a max of 384W. Is it possible that the card wil pull from both rails or does it only use one? I never plan...
When I first tried overclocking, I tried to increase ONLY the FSB to 380. This gave me an Ortho's error within 2 minutes. From there I tried to increase every votage there was and got no results. I've tried various RAM timings with no such luck. As a last ditch effort after of month of...
I am running Orthos blend. Stable for 14 hours. The problem will occur within ten minutes of just browsing. My memory is G-skill 6400 running at 388. I set my timings to auto. As far as my Vcore, I believe it is steady. According to CPU-Z, the actual voltage is about .05 volts less then...
I have recently overclocked my system to a FSB of 388 with a Vcore of 1.275. I ran Orthos's for 14 hours with no problems. My temps remained in the mid 40's using TAT. All seems well. When I'm browsing the internet with a couple of windows open, I occasionally get the blue screen of death...
I finally got it to work!!! I now have the FSB to [email]424@3.39Ghz. I know this isn't screaming, but it's better than the 350 I was getting. The only way I could get this to work is to set all of the voltages to "auto"! I tried every voltage combination and could not get it to work. I'm...
My memory is G.SKILL F2-6400CL4D-2GBPK R. I have tried timings of 4-4-4-12 and "auto". I don't think I've tried 5-5-5-15 manually. With this memory I just assumed I would be able to get at least a FSB of 360 with no errors. I'll give it a shot tonight along with memtest. As far as my BIOS...
I copied the BIOS settings exactly with the exception for the mouse and keyboard USB support. I was able to get it to boot, but failed Ortho's within the first minute. I have the latest and greatest BIOS. I guess it's time to focus on the memory. Thanks for all of your input.:(
I set everything up according to what GuitarDaddy suggested with the exception of the DDR speed. I wasn't sure where I make that change, nonetheless. When I change the FSB to 401 and the multiplier to 7, my system won't even post. It will eventually turn on but back to default settings. Does...
I have disabled everything questionable in the bios and have changed the voltages every which way and can only manage to get my FSB to 350! I've tried locking my PCI-e freq to 100 and 101 and setting my RAM timings to everything under the sun. I have even tried three or four different BIOS...
