I have a T43 that I trimmed down to run only a few required startup processes and very few background programs. Everything was working smoothly for the past few weeks.
The other day I bought another 512MB RAM and installed it. Everything again was working fine.
Just yesterday, however...
Yeah, I must have disabled some network service, though I keep running through the list and don't see what it could be.
I guess I should just restore to factory defaults, only touch those I know 100%....
I just got my T43 a few days ago. I removed the IBM partition and fresh installed XP. I then installed all needed drivers from IBM. I do not remember if at this point the wireless was available, but I'm pretty sure it was. Anyways, I then disabled/changed several services in services.msc...

My T43 arrives this evening... if it wasn't for EPP it would have never been an option..
It seems the MX is quite similar to the Asus M3, with a much steeper price.... have you looked into comparing...
My T43 will be arriving any time today (though I can't play with it until after my finals friday). Unfortunately, it will have a 40GB 5400rpm IBM hard drive.
My uses consist of Office Apps, Mathematica, Web browsing, winamp, AIM, maybe another math/business program, but NO gaming. I know...

After reading all the overclocking posts/success, I've had some interest in doing mine down the road. I was wondering, however, if different laptop companies use different methods for eliminating heat? Are some laptop companies better than others? I am comparing only PM chips...
