I was always an Nvidia fan, but once I got an LCD running at it's native resolution 1024x1280 I notice the text on websites was a bit blurry. No amount of adjustment would help. I was researching to find a replacement card for my FX5900 and saw in severaly reviews that Nvidia was known for...
Got 4838 with 430/530 OC on 3DMark05. 4588 no OC. That's not bad for an Athlon 3200+ and 1GB of plain PC2700 RAM. It lets me run today's games on a previous gen processor with only a 10% hit in framerates compared to an average 64bit processor. Got it last week at BestBuy.com for $319.95...
Mine's at 430/530 (AGP) and it gave me a nice 10% bump in my 3Dmark05 score to 4830. And thats just with a XP3200+ with a gig of PC2700 RAM. May not be a great overclocker, but still a very worthwhile card. With a 64bit processor on a new machine it would be quite fast (especially for the price).
I bought one from BestBuy.com. Their website showed the graphics on the fan cover (Ruby?), but the card turned out to be plain. I was kind of disappointed until I put it in the case and ran a few games! ;-)
