Sometimes life just blows.....quite discouraging visit with my neurologist today....

Let's just say today hasn't been one of my most stellar days........ Background: I'm around 53......not bad shape, at least I thought..........but been having some "issues" that up till now I'd attributed to getting older..... Loss of some of my grip strength, some balance issues going...

    Oil Changes In Europe

I've always wondered why the oil change interval is still 3K miles...........and it's been that since I can remember back to the '60's. It's not like oil hasn't improved since then....and it has, significantly......or oil filters haven't gotten better-----they have, significantly------and yet...

    Can't OC E4300 on DS3 at all!!!!

From where did you source your Buffalo Firestix? Did you buy them new or used? The only reason I ask is that while the VAST majority of Firestix have Micron D9 ICs, there was one retailer that sold Firestix with Elpidia ICs.....MicroCenter. Don't know if theirs have changed over to Micron...

    OK...so I'll admit it....I'm a pack rat.....

I constantly am accused of being a pack rat by my wife.......and naturally, I deny it....I'm just a "collector" of sorts. But, I'm here to bare my soul........I'm a pack rat, through and through. The only reason I'm finally admitting this is the fact I'm in the process of actually cleaning...

Bush is told war is harming the GOP...........

House Republican moderates, in a remarkably blunt White House meeting, warned President Bush this week that his pursuit of the war in Iraq is risking the future of the Republican Party and that he cannot count on GOP support for many more months. the meeting between 11 House Republicans...

Gas price gouging - when are the oil companies going to be held accountable?

I hate it when people purposefully distort information.........esp. when it's so easily checked. You conveniently left out that Exxon-Mobil is listed in the 2006 Fortune 500 list, either the American list or the Global list, as the #1 largest corporation on the planet........not Wal-Mart (#2 on...

    Bushisms we all love!!!!!!!!!

    1. "You work three jobs? Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that." (Bush speaking to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005) 2. "Yes, Peter. Are you going to ask that question with shades on?... I'm interested in the shade look...

Question for the "Bush lied" crowd.

There was, outside the Bush administration, no general consensus that Saddam had WMD's nor an active nuclear program.....in fact, most agencies had discredited both "theories" prior to Bush engaging in the Iraq war. And despite Cheney's continued assertions that Saddam and Al Queda were...

Help! Desperate CC situation! Advice needed

That's the way I always have had it go. No matter who initiates the offer for credit, be it a card, loan, or whatever, the COMPANY making the offer ASKS the person responding to it to supply the SSN, DOB, and al other pertinent information.........NEVER the other way around.

    Dots sticking all over car

Usually tree sap, being quite sticky, doesn't wash off simply by using water.....which is why sap removers are sold. Solvents, they are. If what ever it is is simply being taken off by a rinse of water, it certainly cannot be tree sap.

Ultra 600W PSU FAR (Now Free Shipping!)

While a case with a door may be stupid to you.......some actually like the smooth look and hiding the optical drives the doored case provides. After all, if you are not using your opticals every 5 seconds, a door is no problem at all, esp. the aluminum versions which tend to be quite sturdy...

What's the college major that's most "useful" in the real world?

How do you define useful in the real world? Job opportunities upon graduation and beyond? Useful to whom? Your question is much to ambiguous to really be answered in a simple statement about one degree......from a personal aspect, useful would be vastly different to each and every person...

Dammit, I hate when people do this

And by doing that the first time, you set the precedent for this happening. They will expect the same exact treatment. Like has been said time and time again, give away something free and whatever it was is not seen as worth much.....so they view your correction of their mistake as being not...

    Lawn Mower stupidity

2 cycle oil is vastly thinner than normal motor oil (4 cycle oil). 2 cycle oil is made to be mixed with gas....."normal" oil won't very easily.....and burned in the combustion process and it's how the cylinder is lubricated. To drain the oil on a push mower, you open the fill plug/screw cap...

Has anyone noticed that Wikipedia is quickly becoming the #1 result for anything you google for?

But just because the article in question has references listed below it, doesn't mean that the snippet of info hasn't been doctored/corrupted by an idiot on a "I played with Wiki and messed it up good!" spree. True, the referenced sources are nice to have.........but does not ensure any...
