are yate loon and nexus the same thing?
cuz i found this really nice fan review and it shows great results for the "nexus D12SL-12" fan.
then on frozencpu i see "yate loon D12SL-12".

those 150W PSU's aren't enough to boot that board. unless you have another old, working computer using a PSU of simlar size, throw em out cuz they're useless for any computer newer than at least 4 years old.
really sounds like your PSU is your culprit. if it was the motherboard or cpu or...
check the video card to see if it has a molex or other type of power supply connection. if so, it must be connected to the power supply (i can't tell from the pix in anandtech's guide that you linked).
what are specs of your power supply?
invest in a power supply tester to rule out any problems with that. if not the psu, prolly is your motherboard. :(
yeah copy just the .exe and the one bios file for xp 32-bit to your floppy. make sure your floppy is in a good state cuz if something goes wrong while flashing, you'll most likely hose your motherboard.

the headphones use three jacks, right? line-out, mic and line-in with line-in for the rear channel? try turning up the rear channel in either windows audio control, xfi settings or game settings.
when you install prime95, you get 2 options, one being "no thanks, benchmark only" or something like that. this is the option i choose when i install prime95. maybe you should reinstall and select this option so you don't have to connect any server.
then you'll see option for torture test...
