my research makes the panasonics look very good. pcmag gave them editor's choice for their excellent picture quality. sony was said to be a bit uneven. i believe it was the 650 k pixel unit that was reviewed. its about 800.00 discounted on cameraworld. you might do better elsewhere. i'm in the...
reviewing the database, for simple dvi output, the radeon le 32mb ddr looks good. are people actually switching on the hyper-z function with a software fix?
i've got the planar 17.4 and i MUST have a dvi card soon. but it must be good enough to run fs 2000 flawlessly.
if it isn't too expensive, i'd like to edit my old hi8 movies on the card as well, but that can wait if it bumps up the price too much.
i was thinking of the radeon le, but does...
may seem foolish, but the form factor looks a lot like a machine we use at work. the monitor failed one day when we spilled something on it and i was there when the tech was repairing it. he took it apart and viola, there were a series of small flourescent tubes. he replaced them and it worked...
got the planar from dell on sale and it looks awesome. only trouble is it isn't as sharp as the 21 inch crts at work; also not as sharp as my laptop display, so i'm assuming its my video card. its an agp 4x, but it is not direct digital dv-i. what's the best cheap dv-i card so i can get this...
palm vx or ibm c3, 8mb unit only. new.
signed up for palm alliance program because they said i'd get a special deal, only they took the deal off the page. nice, eh.
i cant speak for these new faster cdrw's, but i have an older yamaha 4x4x16. the large buffer size seems to work fine. occasionally have a wasted disc, but its rare.
nice comments on this thread. my thoughts very briefly: both are drugs, both have side effects. m is illegal, and is therefore a poor choice for those of us that wish to be law abiding.
there is some evidence that m may result in dna damage. certainly, when smoked it is a lung carcinogen. of...
not certain if it is fate or just naivete: by the time i returned to the dell site to purchase my machine they were all sold, save one i didn't want. i believe i take today's fool award.
lesson learned: buy the darn thing before you post it.
thanks for the input. btw i looked at the aol deal. i believe it is actually a giveaway to new aol members, like the one they are offering on new computers, though i could be wrong.
my guess is that its one of those deals where you get 6 months free but if you forget to notify them, then at 6...
after missing out on the compgeeks 139.00 deal i'm debating over the faster e-machine they have and one of these dells. not hot, but also not subzero.
here's the link...
