I finally assembled my first computer after much lurking around here.
Here are the parts:

Funny thing is that both your recs ore on my short list... The reason I went with the 6600 was to go in with standard setting and get the speed. That said, OCing is a little intimadating to me since I have never done it and don't know anyone who has that I can easily reach out to. I really...
I first want to say how impressed with this site I am and appreciate all the contributions. I found this site after I decided to finally build my first HT/Media computer and somehow a google led me here.
That said, I have decided to go with the P5W-DH Delux from ASUS with the E6600 chip...
I also drink light beer since I don't want to continue the mid life expansion;>)
Nothing better than rolling in from a hard day at the office, grabbing a quick and light bite to eat then settling in on the porch with a beer and keep a watchfull eye on the kids playing in the yard.

Have your parents consider very carefully if they want to extend their service by at least 24 months. Any time you do anything the clock starts over. Recently, I unknowingly extended my service by 24 months just by grabbing an H20 from BB. I had been an HDTV customer for nearly 3 years and I...

I run Polk SDA's for my...
That is very understandable Kaido.
It looks like you have assembled a very respectable HT that provides a nice experience. The only thing I see is a 3dB imbalance between the fluance and dayton speakers which can easily be tuned by ear.
Good luck

You really want the bipoles directly at your sides and at or just above ear level. I would also suggest the avia calibration disk and the analog spl that can be had from radio shack for about $40.00. If you don't want to buy the disk you should at least grab the meter and use the tests...
If your business does not have the need then on a cost basis alone the DSL is the way to go. I have done the same thing while networking business offices and as long as your not consistantly hitting 100% usage don't worry about it. Keep track of your peak usage and drive your bw requirement as...
I am an EE working in wireless and love it. I have about 20 years under my belt and it has been fun, very rewarding and the payoff has been beyond all my expectations. I truly wanted to be an engineer and IMO thats the only way you can make it through since any of the disciplines are very...
