    Solid linux motherboard?

Hi folks, Looking to build a new linux box -- it's for development, file server, etc... so stability is more important than anything else. I'd love to keep the cost down, as well, so was looking at the Athlon-based boards. Considered the Asus A7N8X but I'm not sure about it's stability /...

To all successful MSI Pro2A owners!! A little help!!!!

I'll try some USB stuff tonight... I'm almost afraid to plug things in now. I bought Norton's Ghost, so I'm going to try and create a stable image so I can always fall back to that. I've had some problems with Ghost, though... is anything ever easy? Good luck & more later... jason

To all successful MSI Pro2A owners!! A little help!!!!

And the fun continues... One of the major reasons for me redoing my install was because I was having problems with my CD drive and CD-RW drive... clonecd (and nero, and adaptec) could never read from either of the drive... it'd start it up, then immediately start reporting errors. I had the...

To all successful MSI Pro2A owners!! A little help!!!!

So far so good... just installed Win98SE, the Via 4.28 stuff, video driver (geforce2 gts), and directx8. I'm going to start putting in my PCI cards now, but for the life of me I can't find in the manual something that tells me which slots are shared... where's that in the manual? Thanks, jason

Help with HP CR-RW Drive -- How do you make a CD ?

JJordan, I just recently bought the 9350i, too, and the little software that comes with it isn't very good. My original HP came with a version of Adaptec's Easy CD Creator and I was surprised when I noticed that the 9350i jut came with Adaptec's DirectCD. For the best burning, you'll probably...

    Abit BP6 - few questions

I bought a used BP6 with two 433 celerons... after a bit of wrangling (and one processor replacement), I got Mandrake 7.2 running on it and it was pretty cool... I bought it to replace a K6-2 400 that's my current linux box, mainly because I wanted to mess around with SMP. So I took apart the...

    Cable/DSL router, whats the best

I have a Linksys 4-port at home that replaced an old P166 running a linux router. So far it's ok, but ever since switching out the linux box, I seem to have more network timeouts in half-life and interrupted connections in Quake3. Has anyone else seen this behavior? I've upgraded the flash to...

How long should the Q3 loop run? K7T Pro2-A q's...

Well, I installed the latest 4 in 1 drivers from Via, plus I flashed the bios up to version 2.2. Stability seems to have improved, although now I see some occasional network flakiness... I'll be cruising along in a Q3-TA game, then after about 20 minutes I'll get a connection interrupted...

How long should the Q3 loop run? K7T Pro2-A q's...

Hi folks, I just bought and installed an MSI K7T Pro2-A with an Athlon 850. It's a pretty clean install, just win98SE and Quake 3 + Team Arena to do some speed tests (waiting for my scsi drive & new video card to come in). With a TNT2 Ultra, I set up Q3-TA to loop through it's two...
