I unplugged everything and re-connected everything for the gazillionth time and this time everything worked including the switch. Unfortunately , I tried it again and it powers up for only a few seconds and then shuts itself off. suggestions?

okay it was actually pins 15 and 16 on my psu, but the psu works. is it possible the mobo is shorting?

jumpered the power connector and also reset the cmos. Still nothing. when i hit the switch on the back of the psu, after a few seconds I hear a faint "discharging" like sound. any other ideas?
