    More horrific reporting from DailyTech

I'm not interested in the intricacies of the corporate relationship between AT and DT. I care about shitty news spoiling my favorite site. I'm encouraging Anand to "fire" them by kicking them off his otherwise excellent site. The journalistic abomination that is DT is of concern to every...

Also, are you seriously complaining about irrational and pointless discussion on ATOT? I thought I was the newcomer :)

    More horrific reporting from DailyTech

After 31,000 posts you never noticed the giant bar on the right side of the front page marked "DailyTech"? I guess that doesn't count as being "a part" of AT. Can we have a moratorium on complaints about being off topic in the Off Topic forum? I think at some point there was an actual subject...

Sorry. I didn't realize I had fewer posts than you. All my arguments are now invalidated. I bow to your superior ability to enter text into a computer.

You're right. As a biologist I have no right to be offended if someone says the world is flat, or is 6000 years old, or is made of creamy nougat. Those are all claims that have nothing to do with my discipline.

I thought the point of having an OT forum was so that people can post things that aren't related to computer hardware. Apparently, the general crappiness of DailyTech is of no concern to AnandTech readers.

Hmmm. The last time I posted about DT I got a PM telling me AnandTech couldn't get it's news from somewhere else because they were the same company.

"NASA Reports 2010 to be the Warmest Year on Record" by Jason Mick: http://www.dailytech.com/NASA+Reports+2010+to+be+the+Warmest+Year+on+Record/article20660.htm This is an inconvenient story for a climate change denier to cover, but watch how artfully he does it. "According to...

DailyTech picked up that bullsh!t "WiFi kills trees" story

http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=20281 And here's a scientist patiently explaining why cell phones/WiFi don't cause harm: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2010/11/24/repeat-after-me-cell-phones-dont-cause-brain-cancer/ Is there nowhere else AnandTech can get its news...

can't "press any key to boot from cd"

thanks for your replies. i went digging in the BIOS and sure enough, there was an option under advanced configuration having something to do with USB. i have no idea what it did, but enabling it fixed the problem. i have to hand it to the rocket scientists at DFI who decided to disable USB...

can't "press any key to boot from cd"

i'm just trying to boot into the winxp installer to reformat my hard disk and reinstall windows. in the BIOS i've set the CDROM to be the first boot device, and when the comp boots up, it faithfully starts to boot the winxp cd. however, when it loads the message "press any key to boot from cd"...
