Didn't AMD just supply you with some thermal compound? I got some thermal compound with my Pentium 4 processor and just used that.

i got some plastic wire sleeves in the auto section at walmart... they are cut down the side so all you have to do it pull it apart and wrap it around the wires

is it a 56k modem? if you have xp it should just find a driver for you.. or else you can go into your device manager and see if you can find the name of the modem, but i don't see why you don't want to open the case.. it's not dangerous or anything, haha, but give that a try

if it's a popup off the internet it's just a hoax and ignore it, but if it's an actual windows popup i don't see why you wouldn't have sufficient memory.. thats quite a bit of memory.. but if in fact thats the case.. try turning some programs off at start up

i very much doubt it's the hard drive.. what i would try doing is opening up her startup programs list by going to start, run, and typing in msconfig and then disable all the programs she doesn't want to run, and the ones you don't know what they are.. because honestly, if you don't know what...
