After installing (and re-installing) the 29.42 drivers, my digital vibrance setting seems to unset itself everytime I login. Even though it's set to "restore setting each time you start windows", it returns to a drab un-vibrant state. Has anyone else seen this happen?

Tried safe mode, same thing happens. I've had BSOD's in the past (different problem) on this machine, and was able to at least see there was a BSOD before it restarted. This is much more abrupt. I can't even boot to change the auto-reboot settings at this point, unless they can be changed from...

No BSOD, just the WinXP startup screen, then black as it reboots. XP has actually been very good to me; the Gainward drivers for my vidcard, on the other hand, were very very nasty. Anyone know any good books to read during this re-install?

You're buying in an interesting timeframe. :) On the AMD side, the SIS and NVIDIA mobos should both be on the market. Since the benchmarking on these is still to be seen (at least in anything close to production models), it's a tossup. Personally, I would be looking at the NVIDIA board, but...
