I like Sapphire. Had a x1900gt and the bios chip went belly up. They sent me a new card right away. No problem. I was using Accelero and they said just put the stock parts back on. I like that. No nonsense.

While everything you say is true, with the new perpendicular drives in RAID 0, they are getting real close to needing the 3Gb/s. And they are getting much faster quickly.

Sure sounds like a heat issue. Try using the latest Speed Fan. The newest version gives you not only CPU temp but core temp also. I have seen a non-flat heatsink cool the proc while letting the core get overheated. Also check your BIOS to make sure hardware monitering values are set right.

Everest, N-Tune, and Speed Fan all say CPU temp is Temp1 on speed fan. Northbridge temp is Mobo temp on Speed Fan. Only Speed Fan separates Core temp and CPU temp.

I have a AMD 3700 San Diego. Just put a new HS/F on. TT Silent Boost. When running Prime 95, Speed Fan shows temp1 ( CPU ) around 45C. BUT, core temp is running around 65C+!! AMD says proc is good to 71C, which I thought was temp1. If that means core, then I have a problem. I did HS/F install...
