You can get a EVGA GTX 570 Classified for about $350 and overclock it to ~940mhz. They use a GTX 580 PCB with the beefier VRMs, so you can goto 1.2v with those, just like with most 580s. I can confirm this firsthand because I have two of them, myself.

It doesn't matter if the games uses all of your VRAM. It's probably programmed to use as much VRAM as possible. Because it uses up to ~1.5gb doesn't mean it NEEDS that much to run perfectly stable and smoothly. People always overlook this when discussing VRAM requirements.
