You won't hit 2.6ghz with that 2.4ghz 1mb cache. Its very unlikely especially with stock cooling. You have to understand that the core is the same, CG. The only nice thing is the 1mb cache.
Well, so far I've got this athlon 3000+ running at 2.41ghz with 1:1 ram 241x10 cas 2.5 . The htt mult is at 4x also so its running at 1948mhz So far I'm pretty happy with the computer. I wish my x800 pro were unlockable, so far I've not done that. 25000 on 3dmark 2001 and 12000 on 2003 with the...
mad3d flash back to f1 and see what happens :) I'm curious. I have the same board from newegg ordered about 2 weeks ago and it came with the f1 bios also. I got a no boot on a good 3000+ 1.4v. My newcastle CG core 3000+ will be here tomorrow. If the board doesn't work, in a way that will be...
I have no huge problem with that. I love getting the most for my money and I will go mobile again if I can get some sort of confirmation from gigabyte for mobile microcode being added to the bios. BTW , what ist he command to quote someone? /q \q or what?
Bar81, when I get my a64 newcastle cg core and flash it to the newest F3d bios, do you think that would then allow me to use mobiles? If it does I will probably send the newcastle back because that extra cache is worth it.
that makes me feel pissed of but happy.... Damn my luck, I wanted to keep that lil 1mb 1.4v 3000+ so bad too. I had it running at 2.36 1.45v STABLE on the asrock. I ran prime95 for a good 2 hours and no hiccups. I had to return it b/c it wouldn't work in my new k8ns pro. I'll have my CG core...
mad3d, don't get too pumped up. Seems like a lot of people are getting disappointed. I wish you the best of luck though. Let me know how it goes. How much was your 3200+ 1.4? thanks
well that is interesting to say the least. I guess the k8ns just doesn't like mobile's at all. They may fix it down the road, but if this newcastle CG core runs 2.4+ I'll be fine. The nice thing about the newcastle is it should be able to take up to 1.7v so I can oc the lil thing to death. Let...
I need a quick reply from you if possible Bar81... I went to amd's site and couldn't find OX to be a core revision code. There is a processor at newegg, well two of them. They are the EXACT same and cost the same and all. The only diff is the model number. One has a model number of ADA3000AXBOX...
if im gonna go desktop, ( looking that way ). Which should i get? 3000+ newcastle 2.0ghz 10x mult 512kb cache, or.... 3200+ 2.0ghz 10x mult 1mb cache. I'm looking for the top perf/oc on a proc under $220. Right now I don't think I can go mobile since only a few, ( what 1 person? ) have got it...
Good Question. That eliminated the whole asrock thing right off. I am so tempted to go 1.4 or 1.5 mobile cpu's one more time. I got a good sale rep at newegg and he took off the 30% restocking fee for my cpu which saved me $60. I was going to rma the mobo but it seems like it is fine and its...
figures, just figures............
Turns out that the k8ns-pro that I bought is only available for replacement of exact same mobo, no refunds. Damnit. Now what? Do I get another 3000+ and try my luck again? Or do I get a 1.5v 3000+ DTR and try it out? OR do I just ditch mobiles and go with a...
to tell you the truth, its probably more worth it to just buy the asrock k8s8x and get a 3200+ instead of the 3000+ b/c I know my asrock ran stable at 260htt. Combine that with 10x multi I'm looking at 2.6ghz no prob if the core is willing. The dtr also seems better b/c it is cheaper and has the...
no go. I let the thing sit there for 5minutes and I got no boot. My proc worked 4 days ago and my mobo should be fine also, it has led's on ram on and all fans running. I think I'm gonna just ditch this whole setup back to newegg and get another one back, same board same proc, and see what...
I also found the DTR 3000+ is $51 cheaper then the 1.4v 3000+ at newegg. I am thinking I should go ahead and stick with the DTR b/c thats a decent amount of money to save, what do you all think? Will I have more problems with the DTR at k8ns pro or the same? Thanks.
