huh... i'm not completely in the know of these OC'ing terms... would you say it is viable to OC a 3000+ to 2.3-2.4 with stock retail fan and a decently cooled case (few fans inside) or is that suicide?

i'm getting the exact same CPU in a few days, i'd love some insight as to how you OC'd that baby up that high.

so it's better off if i just stick with a 3000+ desktop, i'll prolly end up with way less headaches. i mean an extra 5% performance in Tribes: Vengence (which is the only reason i buying this thing) is not worth a weeks worth of pulling hair.

i've been doing some research and i've concluded the best chip for my budget is the Athlon64 3000+
i'm somewhat concerned though when ordering things off newegg as to the real difference between the 3 versions they have for the exact same price. if some of you could look at these...
