Hi effee! I must tell you that there is lot of truth in your post. Buying s939 now without PCIe mobo does not offer any advantage over s754, and s754 3200+ gives more performance while I can save some bucks :) It looks better to get now cheaper s754 (I can get DFI mobo for about $145)...

afaik, DDR400 memory goes on the both motherboards, there is no big difference in the prices for mobos, but cpu price is a SIGNIFICANT one - amd64 3200 costs around $300 (US) here. So, I'm not in the situation to upgrade cpu after 6 months, but I have to buy something to last for some time ...
