AMD HD 6850 Review/Benchmark [You were wrong if you thought I couldn't add more]

To the OP: nice card, now try pushing it to its limits. I've had my Sapphire 6850 at 940/1180 stock voltages, I'm pretty sure yours can even pass it. Putting a bit of voltage won't hurt too. Hit the 1ghz mark core with a little added volts.

    card update or total upgrade?

Too outdated in the AMD motherboard naming scheme. But still, I'd go for a rebuild with an X6 1055T, OC the hell out of it, get a nice cheap AM3 board and just keep the GTX260. Davidh373's recommendation is good.

    card update or total upgrade?

Does the M2N Sli support phenom II X6? A 1055T overclocked would be a nice upgrade if ever.

Inadequate cooling from Freezer 7 Pro?

This thing worries me, the hottest core reaches 70c on around 90~95% load while playing GTA IV. On video encoding which I do quite often, it even reaches highs of 75c. Is this still safe? If not, what's a good cooler priced below $40 that could reduce temps?

Inadequate cooling from Freezer 7 Pro?

The fan speed is already set at its maximum (2500 rpm). Should I pull the trigger and get a new cooler? I was looking at the CM hyper 212 plus 'cause of the good reviews.

Inadequate cooling from Freezer 7 Pro?

Here's the deal, checked with coretemp and my 3ghz Q6600 (1.325vid) is idling at temps ranging from low to high 40s depending on the core (being cooled by a Freezer 7) with ambient temps at around 32-34°C. Just yesterday I replaced the thermal paste with the noctua nt-h1 in the hopes of...

    Question on laptop graphics

I've only tried two games right now with the stock drivers that came with my Asus laptop. MW2 runs on max reso (1366x768) on low-mid settings on multiplayer (12-18 players) and can handle it fine. Dragon Age runs on max reso (better on 1280x720), mid settings w/o frame buffer effects and AA. I'm...

    Question on laptop graphics

Not too sure but the 310M would be on the same level as the mobility 4570. I agree with Soleron, the 4650 would really be twice the 310M since it is indeed twice as fast as the 4570. I should know because I have a mobility 4570. May I ask though what games you plan on playing on this laptop?

    Asus K40AD Athlon II M300

Sorry for not updating and thanks for your reply. Here's the case, the power scheme I've been using was the Power4Gear Hybrid which apparently is bugged. Switching between power schemes doesn't change clock settings even when the cpu is loaded. Solution was to just use the standard power schemes...

Video card going bad? Getting BSODs with Atikmdag.sys

Had that same problem with the atikmdag.sys with my 4850 on a Windows Vista 64 OS. Reverted to XP SP3, same problems. Finally RMA'd the card and the replacement didn't have any such problems anymore. It seems like a hardware problem, something might be wrong with your video memory.

    External Hard Disk detection problems.

I have a 320gb Hitachi 2.5" HDD inside a Hard Disk Enclosure. The HDD is already formatted and ready to be used. The issue now is, whenever I plug in the HD Enclosure when the Computer is already on, the HD won't appear in My Computer. Then I tried plugging it while the computer is still off...

    COD4 Weird FPS Dips

Wow, even on the green side this happens huh? I have the same experience, this didn't used to happen before as well, then I remembered updating my drivers then this started happening! I can't be too sure though but theoretically, this shouldn't be happening since other 4850 owners playing COD4...

    COD4 Weird FPS Dips

Hey guys, I posted a while back regarding my problem about my COD4 FPS dropping to the 10s. Now, I think I found the solution after hours of tinkering with my settings. It seems that the texture resolution, normal map resolution, and specular map resolutions have something to do with it...

    Restarting Computer when playing

Increased the voltage by one notch and it doesn't hang up or restart anymore. I forgot that I had to increase the voltage when the overclock resetted. How stupid of me, thanks anyway!
