Hi. Can't give you any first hand experience with the Corsair but I will almost definately be buying one myself in a couple of weeks. I'll be going for the HX620 - I'm currently in the process of deciding on parts for a new build and this is one of the only parts I'm firmly decided on. Have read...
I guess I'll just have to see how healthy my bank balance is when I decide to take the plunge! Or, more specifically, how much my wife has spent!!!
Any thoughts on the Tuniq (good/bad)? or any alternatives - just looking to keep the pro as cool as possible under a mild overclock...
Thanks for the quick reply mcurphy! Think I'll probably end up going with the corsair then. Do you think there's any advantage going with the dominator set over the regular XMS2? I liked the look of the new cooling design and spec wise they look otherwise identical.
Edit: PS The Bad Axe only...
Morning All! I'm currently planning a new build (based on the sig below). So far from my current/old rig I'll be taking the hard drives, case, optical drive, Gfx card (for now...) and monitor. Basically I'm moving from my old AMD system across to a C2D.
I've pretty much settled on the e6600...
You might have already fixed this by now but... Yeah you can use the bottom pci-e slot - you have manually set the jumpers in between them so that they'll operate @ x8/x8 (normally the top slot is @ x16 and the bottom is @ x1). You shouldn't see too much of a slow down (if any) by 'only' using...
I've nver had the Zalman but I've used both the rev1 & rev2 Nv Silencer 5's on my GT. With the stock cooler, my temps were around 59c idle/78c load. I put the rev1 one on and promptly broke one of the crappy screws (idled @ around 65c for about a week until i got my rev2). The rev 2 is on now...
Hi all. I want to get a good quality aftermarket cpu cooler for my processor. I was looking at the thermaright ones and they seem to be some of the best (particularly the xp-120) but I'm not sure it would fit into my rig (i.e. it might block the graphics card and/or RAM). Any suggestions would...
Cheers guys. Only just ordered the parts today so haven't got a clue on temps yet. I'll post them as soon as I get the thing put together. Everything apart from the case should be here tomorrow (which should get to me by the end of the week).
Just ordered a new case, power supply, MB, Cpu + heatsink. All this was to upgrade my previous rig (3ghz prescott) and switch from intel to AMD. Just wondered if anybody had any thoughts on the new rig. Good or bad I'm just after opinions. The new rig is in my sig.
I put this system together a few months ago and its been running fine with the exception of one issue. Sometimes when I access a disc in my DVD drive the computer just resets itself for no aparent reason. Examples include copying files from the disc to the hard drive or in the middle of...
Thanks guys. Gonna get a 6800gt as soon as I can find one in stock. Just can't convince myself that its worth paying an extra £130 for only a slight increase in clock speed. GT'll be fast enough for me!! Thanks for your advice
