Yea when i get ready to get a new computer i may seriously think of building it myself. It cant' be that hard. My biggest concern would be installing the cpu correctly. Surely it cant' be that hard. When the quad cores come down in price i may build a computer. Thanks.

IF you can swing it i would go with 4gb of ram if your going to run vista 64, especially for future games and considering memory is so cheap right now. I know my next box i get is going to have 4gb in it.

My vote goes for saving your pennies towards a quad core whenever your ready to upgrade. I think you will have a much greater bang for your buck upgrade then, unless of course you can pick up a 4800 for dirt cheap then it might be worth it. Of course what do i know i'm still running a athlon...

Maybe he's saving up his pennies now for a great quad-core rig around Christmas time. I'm kind of in the same boat. I think that by that time the cheapest intel quad core will be reasonbly priced in the mid 100 dollar range, or at least i'm hoping.

I just had my first outage since i got it. It was only a 10 second outage and the apc ups did it's job.

For the modem i would recommend the motorola sb5101 over the sb 5120. Reason being i heard it may be able to handle the higher speeds better and i believe i read it has a better chipset in it as well. Plus i think they stopped making the sb 5120 anyway.

I read where they may start trials by the end of this year. Comcast in particular. From what i'v read they have decided to really accelerate the rollout of this.

I use Avast in Xp 64. It works great.
