Hi. THis is a really basic question but I would like an answer.
Firstly, when you have a server that is local to many client machines, and you have a few applications / programs on the server that users can access, who's memory resources are used?
Like if a local client has a shortcut to...

I've been reading up on some articles.
All I know is that the version of the Athlon 64 3200+ i will be getting is the Socket 754 version. And it doesn't have dual channel support.
Ok, let me explain my situation a little bit more.
I currently have this system:
- Intel P4 3.0Ghz with 800Mhz...

Hi.
I am quite interested in using a RAID configuration.
I'll be using Raid 0.
I was curious to whether any of you out there could help recommending me to a good RAID card.
Does name brand have any advantages? are there major quality differences between individual name brands?
I will not be...
Chances are its your motherboard.
I had the same problem before. I didn't have your exact motherboard but a P4 board instead. It would turn on and everything and green light on the board would be on but no beep or POSTS.
So its your mobo most likely.
I just went into the BIOS and looked through it. It recorded logs so i went into it and there was a log saying:
Date xxxxxx
Event: Checksum error
thats all it said........................xxxx was today's date. i just didnt' feel like putting it in.............
I currently am running into some problems and i am truly clueless as to why this is happening.
About 3 days ago i just put together a computer. Here are the specs:

512Mb DDR400 Hynix Ram
nVidia Geforce 4 MX 440 SE 64mb card
1 WD 40gb harddrive...
What happens if you have all your slots populated yet the ram sticks are different?
eg. lets say you have high end ram in slots 1 and 3 and generic ram in slots 2 and 4? will dual channel still be in effect? It'd just go at the slower timings of the slower generic ram right?
Sorry i meant, if i had 2x256mb of ram now and i decided in the future if i wanted another 2x256 or 2x512, whether the ram would still be in dual channel
Chances are if i did get another stick of 2x256 for a total of 4x256 with all slots populated i'd still be in dual channel. (i'm assuming)...
Hi. I currently have a P4 3.0Ghz system.
I'm still shopping for ram. I'm not an overclocker so generic ram is good enough for me. Are there any stable and reliable generic names i can trust? what about samsung?
Also, I am thinking of either getting 1 stick of DDR400 512mb or 2 x 256Mb...
No. I wasn't basing quality on price.
But i've heard from some ppl that samsung wasnt' that great. I've heard a variety of opinions.
I also read in articles that some of the high end Ram sticks from Crucial and OCZ used samsung chips too.
Any other opinions on generic name brand ram i could...
If Samsung Ram is as good as you say.
THen why does it sell for so cheap then? A stick of 512Mb of Samsung DDR400 Ram is alot cheaper than other names .
