I've got the same mobo (love the mobo by the way), but I have the 3800+. Mine were a little high (around 55 degrees, load) as well with the stock "goo." I bought some Arctic Silver 5, cleaned the heat sink and the cpu with a little rubbing alcohol, applied the AS5...and cha ching!!!! temps...
