    I powered down my PC, connected the monitor using the DVI cable, powered up and voila...the monitor is now receiving the digital signal. PROBLEM SOLVED. (FYI, my video card is a PowerColor Radeon 9550.)

    Of course, one thing I haven't tried is completely powering down the machine, connecting the DVI and re-powering. Could that be it?
