Wow! That sucks. Is this a wide-spread issue with 780i boards? I had that occur once with the original BIOS (P03) when I first built the system, but I updated to the P05 right away anbd haven't experienced that since. I hope that isn't an unresolvable 'feature' of the chipset/boards.

As long as the timings are comparable, memory speed makes more difference than most want to let on. If you can afford it and the timings are the same get the PC-1066. As far as motherboards go, for DDR2 I'd go with an XFX or EVGA 780i board. I've experience with both and they are amazing...
