Yep, same problem here. Seems like it started a week or so ago. Also running Vista Ultimate 64bit. All other sites I go to have been fine.

Another vote for Kaspersky 6 here -- it's very light on resources. I was using EZ AntiVirus before and liked it because it was also light on resources but it doesn't protect you from nearly as much as KIS does.

FWIW, several months ago I saw an LCD on a cash register with an image burnt in. I think it was a 17" Viewsonic. As jliechty said, I'd atleast put the monitor in standby mode to save the backlight.

Windows XP does not ship with accelerated OpenGL drivers for your video card. If you have an nVidia card, install the newest Detonators for Windows 2000 and you'll be set. If you have an ATI card, ask around a bit more - I'm not familiar with their drivers.
